my mood has been super good these few days... just everything seems to be going my way and yea i'm totally over that idiotic depressed phase i was in like a week ago...

the lectures n stuff to read are starting to pile up though. Lotsa stuff to read through... but yea it's cool with me cos at least i'm learning relevant stuff ... pracs have been really interesting too.. unlike stupid pracs i did last year.

me n my housemate are thinking of getting a cat... would love to adpot one... yea seriously contemplating abt it... been seeing some really cute kittens/cats.. just want to take all of them home!!!

went to ikea just now... bought a nice fleece blankey... but well the weather has been super un-autumn like man.. so HOT!!! the weather better turn colder so i can use the blanket.. yep after ikea me and a bunch of friends went to Crown to eat cake.. it's this hotel casino place... after the cake we just walked around the casino for fun.. heh and we found a few slot machines with credit in them and just pressed the buttons... i won 4 cents. hahahahhahahahahaha. there's this cool fire show at crown too.. it's especially nice during winter time cos u can really feel the heat of the flames on your face... oh and a cute ang moh guy waved and smiled at me. HAHAHAHAHA.

unfortunately.. we missed the last tram back. so we had to walk back but it was really fun actually. me n my housemate were walking back with this 2 girls from singapore (also in vet).. we knew them last year but never really hanged ard them until this year. never knew they were so crazy n funny.

oh yes. i'm going to perth in july! doing extra mural farm work at my friend's sheep farm. so cool. haha. hopefully still can come back to singapore for like 2 weeks at least. it's kinda sad that i'm losing touch with all the nus pple already... but at least i have the sajc crew! love u guys :)

Ok yes. Update on life. Well i dissected a dog on thursday.. and yea our grp was lucky cos we got fresh dogs. as in the muscles n stuff were red n firm n we could actually identify nerves n stuff... as oppose to the grp on tuesday who got really disgusting dogs... we call them green dogs cos well.. they're sick. as in purple/blackish meat that;s really soft n gross. but yea. there was still a shortage of dogs so we had half a dog in each table. and my half-a-dog din have a head.. but we had the tail. heh.

And yes i still love my dogs and have absolutely not wish to cut them up. i do want to try to palpate them though. palpate=feel them to try n find position of bones n stuff. as in it does NOT involve any scapels n scissors.. haha.

yea i'm quite ok with my grp now... i guess dead dogs bond pple? haha i'm talking rubbish la. anyway.. just had a chocolate fondue/ drinking party at my place.. just ended n everyone's gone home.. not a biggie party.. just some closer friends.. yea i bought the choc fountain thingie and it was quite cool. cleaning it is NOT cool. and we have like ALOT of bottles of alcohol man.. we can open a bar.. haha anyway yea so we had fun just talking and laughing at each other.. will try and organise more parties...

well swi i found out that horseface lives in serangoon gardens too. yes that means he lives real near me.. haha! so wat say u visit me more often during my winter break? heh.

ok gtg now... GO SINGAPORE for the commonwealth games! i'm kinda sick of seeing australia win all the gold medals. we were like cheering for whatever country that was their rival :P

I'm Pissed at Myself

Ok I just had a prac and my lab coat is bloody. fine it’s not that bad.. just some blood on the sleeves but I’m sooo lazy.. I dun want to wash my coat….

The prac was on joints… so we got to examine fresh horse forelimb and hindlimb.. yea so we’re suppose to see how the joints work.. feel the difference b2n ligaments, tendons, muscles etc… identify certain structures.. and basically do anything we want with the limb. Cut here, cut there.. I sound barbaric don’t I? Haha. But seriously that’s what they tell us to do. They say that since the limb is going to the bin after this, make use of it to like investigate anything u want. Very diff from last year’s rat prac where the science pple warned us not to fool around with the rats and just stick to what we’re suppose to do. Are vets sadistic? Hmmm…

But well. I feel kinda like an outcast with my prac group. They’re also my syndicate grp for a project I haveta do. Going by the trend, I’ll be having them in my group for the next 2 years at least. They’re not bad pple.. there are 2 true blue aussie girls, tall, slim and pretty, one Canadian girl (or as my friend says, Canadian chick), and even the Chinese girl is born and bred in Canada. So yea. That makes me the only asian-type person.

Well It’s probably mostly my own doing. I mean pple who know me know I’m not exactly very sociable. I cant just go up and chat up with strangers. It takes me a while to warm up to pple, especially ang mohs. I mean hell how many friends have told me that their first impression of me is that I’m super dao? Once friends, pple realize that I talk a lot and am quite animated and super lame. But in a grp of pple I dun know I’m super quiet.

I guess that as time passes I’ll start feeling less awkward around them… I hope I do.. I hate just standing around smiling, pretending that I’m part of the grp. Plus I’m gonna have to work with them for a long time. But as I stress, it’s not them. In fact they’re pretty nice to me. One of the aussie girls would ask me if I can see from where I’m standing, if I’ve tried cutting etc…

So yea. I guess I have to work on my social skills. But that’s fucking hard cos I’m so antisocial.

Well looks like i managed to change the dragon pic within a year afterall.. haha! well this dragon is completely done using adobe photoshop and my good old trusty mouse. as in the normal computer mouse.. not the animal that goes squeak. it kind of looks like a painting but it isnt...

well. let's see. bones in forearm = scapula, clavicle, coracoid, humerus, radius, ulna, carpus(9 carpals), metacarpus( 5 metacarpals), phalanges, dorsal sesamoids, proximal palmar sesamoids...

My Whimsical Post

I miss the good old times. i sound old. maybe i am getting old. i miss the times back in secondary school and jc. when life seemed so far ahead of me.. when i dreamt up fantasy futures for myself. Well. the future is now. i'm here at where i want to be. but why am i not as happy as i hoped i will be?

i dont know. there is something wrong with me. i feel there is something missing in my life. i cant just sit back and relax without a care in the world like i used to. and it's not because of my studies. i just feel horrible inside somehow. my studies serve to let me forget my emptyness inside, not worsen it.

aside with the bitterness. the semester has finally started, and i'm officially a VET student. today is like the 3rd day of school and i'm already getting a shitload of names of bones to learn. the anatomy lecturer is pretty disorganised i think... and it's really hard to follow when she points to a part on a bone she's holding, names it and then goes on to the next part before u can absorb anything. thank goodness for practicals. for most of this year i'll be dissecting dogs, greyhounds to be exact. i'll have parts of other animals too but the dog is the main animal.

Went to the night market today and met one of my secondary school friends who i was pretty gam with. Was a pleasant surprise to see her.. lost touch with just about all my secondary school friends already...

oh and swi did laysh tell u about horse face? yeah i forgot to tell u that day at breko. Horseface has a twin and his twin is my classmate in vet science! talk about coincidences eh? for those who dont know who the hell horseface is.... well i think swi willbe angry with me for calling him that anyway.. haha!

ok so i have like a hell of a lot of stuff to read through just for tmr so i better go do that before it gets too late. well hopefully i'll be happier in my next post.
