Butterflies

yeah. as the date draws nearer and nearer.. i'm starting to feel real nervous.. it's not the scared type of nervousness.. but more of the "i wonder what will it be like" nervous anticipation...

went to the pre departure briefing on saturday... yeah quite alot of s'poreans going over to melb... ALOT of them are going to do med.. i guess these are the NUS med turn downs.. quite sad huh they get great grades and yet cant study med in their own country.. have to pay big big bucks to go overseas...

met 2 future coursemates... maybe there's more s'poreans doing vet science but they din turn up.. who knows.. but just glad that at least there's 2.. haha.. ok there's Jun Hui from Hwa Chong.. and Melvin from RJ.. anyone know them? haha.. oh yeah and Jun Hui is from NYGH too.. dunno which class though... saw quite a couple of NY girls there.. oh and melvin has a twin brother who was from SA.. haha sad thing is both of them aren't staying in the same place as me... i'm gonna be at college square and both of them are staying in university college...

got another pre departure briefing this coming sat.. this time is by IDP.. they're a aussie representitive thingie that i chose to help me wif the enrolment and stuff if u din know.. yeah the briefing last sat was more of a " what to do when u get to UOM - how to enrol/orientation stuff".. the one this coming sat is more of a " what u can do/ what to expect when u get to aussie land"...

well finally got down to start on my packing.. i realise that i only have slightly more than 2 weeks left... haha most of my clothes are currently in my suitcase so if u see me wearing the same stuff for the next 2 weeks.. u'll know why.. i have relatively few clothes actually.. i mean what do you expect for a girl who doesnt shop??? a whole chunk of my clothes are actually school-related clothes...

ah well.. time to go back to my packing... 17 more days to go! treasure the time left u have with me! haha!

oh yes forgot to say.. haha being the good little girl i am.. when my parents asked whr i went last fri.. i decided to tell them the truth... sort of.. lol

anyways my mum knows roughly whr the place is.. as she knows thr's a pub outside there.. luckily she dunno wat the inside look like.. i mean wif all the cigarette smoke and loud music and dancing and drinking..

hee yes and i spent my time emphasizing on safe pts like the fact the bash was org by sci club.. and tokked abt the music thr... and of course i left out no-no pts like me drinking... :P

Sick sick sick...

i said in my previous post i was sick. now i'm very sick... :( yeah typical flu symptoms... been coughing non-stop... sorethroat.... headache...muscle ache... slight fever... cant even tok properly now cos it hurts... :(

yeah went to crash NTU just now... to see LAYSH! :) haha crashed some chim transport liabilty lec that had alot of law stuff in it.. the lecturer was quite weird and the way he reads from the paper is v funny... he puts it real close to his face then looks upwards to look at the paper w/o looking thru his glasses... and he keeps saying please please please.. oh and laysh says her classmates think he looks like tweety bird's granny... totally agree!

aft that was some psychy lec.. mind over stress.. hrm prob if i was actually listening it would have been interesting.. haha but got to know the lecturer's lifestory and how he was the youngest kid.. the only boy with 7 older sisters.. seriously this is abt wat i can remember from the lec....

NTU is quite small.. the academic buildings occupy a small space.. and surrounding it like 4 times the size the rest of the land is used to house it's many many halls.. oh and i leant this from laysh: the pple who design ntu have no creative skills... the north spine and south spine look EXACTLY the same so it's easy to get lost cos u forget which part of the campus ur on... haha...

hrm sry if i looked kinda bored.. i mean lecture's will do that to me.. haha.. but seriously i was feeling sick.. still am.. so yeah couldnt fully enjoy my crashing session.. sick sick sick.. haiz..

ok i just came back from science bash.. at rouge.. ok let me say first that I AM NOT A CHIONGSTER... it's just that since alot of pple are going and it's gonna be my last choinging session b4 i fly off... yeah so i went for it...

rouge is a damn small place... yeah and there was a live band playing from 11-12.. and they sucked. BIG TIME. NOt music... just NOISE... wah lao it was horrible lor.. stoopid music.. cause me to leave the place and seek peace and quiet outside... nobody was even dancing lor...

ok so luckily the live band stopped playing at 12 plus.. and finally the R&B music came... at first quite so-so... but the music got better as time went by... yeah so we all danced and stuff... anyways i had 1 and a half cup of gin tonic (house pour - v weak).. 2 tequila shots.. and shared a jug of long island tea wif some pple... ok i have to say that the shots and gin tonic were no feeling... drink already nothing one.. ok maybe just make me dance a little harder.. hahaha.. but the long island tea is strong stuff.. drink a little start to feel seh already..

oh and alot of rag dancers went.. me benny shoe matt weixuan shirley xiaoyuan weijie wenyan victor dexter jason nicole liling tayning zeff frances terence... i hope i din leave anyone out... yeah so alot of pple... had fun time dancing... oh and met kayaking coursemate ben there...

ok so let me say something now that i'm still feeling a little high from the LIT... i tink ben is cute. :) ok so i will want to kick myself after i'm sober but i dun care. too bad i'm going to melbourne. hahhaha..

oh and i thought i saw this SA guy there.. fr my gp class.. swi u rem zicong? but i'm not sure if it's him cos the place is dark and he wasnt that near me... ok been typing alot of typos liao.. but u dun notice cos i'm constantly deleting and retyping.. haha.. going to slp now.. gd nite... oh btw.. i'm SICK.. and i still go.. wah lao wat am i tinking?

BOY AM I FREE OR WAT

ok i must be crazy... i just changed my template not long ago.. and here i am giving my blog a new look. AGAIN. Went to crash 4 bloody lectures just now... biod, science of music, genetics, human anatomy...

biod was fine.. cos it's the intro and they did the usual "show pics to impress/keep students awake" stunt... yeah so it was quite nice to look at all the pics.. i have to say science of music seemed quite interesting... esp with me and shiwei squinting hard trying to see the powerpt slides cos we were condemned to the back back row.. haha but seriously it was interesting... but the lecture was DAMN FULL.. there were alot of step sitters... hrm nus dunno how to give them better location huh...

ok i almost killed myself during genetics and human anatomy... genetics the lecturer was talking abt cell components and stuff... and he was talking to the floor most of the time.. plus he was basically reading from the slides.. and he was spending too much time telling us how respectable and decent E.coli/Streptomycete etc were... plus he seemed to be interested so much in bacteria pili and oh yes he loves bread and cheese. See the amazing amt of stuff i can learn in a lec? Human anatomy started out fine wif an interesting introduction.. then change lecturer and start the lesson proper.. and that is where i wanted to bang my head... what did the lecturer talk abt? cell components. sound familiar? yeah and he was really going on and on abt the diff component... too much in fact.. doesnt he know that it is a Prerequisite to have bio to take that mod? he's spending way to much time on stuff pple already know...

yes i'm going for the bash this fri...

ooh going to crash ntu next mon... i'm going to be a pseudo maritime student.. hahaha...

Matric Cardless

Yep.. i'm matric cardless.. and according to benny.. i'm now an illegal immigrant.. haha..

went to hand in my matric card today.. plus the withdrawal form.. but techinically i'm not out of nus yet cos i still have to go thru a stoopid interview and recieve the official letter fr the registra office.. yeah waste my time basically..

crashed one lec today... aim to crash more lecs in the days to come.. want to torture myself... make myself super duper bored attending lecs... hahaha....

exactly one month more b4 i fly off.. ONE MONTH.. wow time really flies.. it's a good time now to claim your farewell dinners from me.. if not i fly off liao no more chance le.. hahaha..

New Look

Changed the layout of my blog..

well completed my 1 & 2 star kayaking course.. i must say it has been FUN... :) haha however on the first day i din put sunblock.. the result? a red red lobster. haha.. but i learnt my lesson.. for the subsequent lessons a put ALOT of sunblock.. currently .. i am chao da.. but at least i'm not red... :P

kayaking is fun.. esp the capsizing part + rescue and recovery.. yeah and everytime if we use the pool.. at the end of the lesson or even in the middle of lessons.. pple are trying to capsize each other.. yeah so at the end of the lesson everyone is in the pool hanging on to their capsized & flooded kayak with no rescuers in sight... haha.. yeah and we tried out canoe polo.. fun stuff...

there was a mini expedition on the last day.. paddling out.. i almost died.. i dunno y but i was DEAD TIRED.. maybe it has got something to do with my less then substential breakfast.. haha.. then.. we stopped at a sheltered area away from the shipping lanes to practise capsizing/rescue.. now.. here's a tip to allow yrself not to feel tired while paddling : eat milo bars.. haha.. cos after i ate half of benny's milo bar.. the whole trip back i din stop paddling once.. milo bar to the rescue! haha...

well for the nus pple.. sch is starting on mon.. gd luck for this sem ! :)

WARNING: Long Post Ahead

Yes.. this is gonna be a long post..

Well back from KL .. had a great great time there... had a erm.. memorable first night.. no wait.. it was morning.. haha the bus reached at ard close to 4 i think.. 4am.. and by right we were suppose to check in at 2pm.. but by left.. the receptionist said we could check in at 8am if there was vacancy. so we spent the morning playing OLD MAID in the lobby.. until some of us could not take it and concussed on the chair.. FINALLY at 8.. we managed to get 1 room... so we all squeezed into it and rested awhile b4 breakfast...

ok i have to say.. the shopping centres in KL are HUGE.. like a maze.. Times Square has so many stories.. yeah we went to play the theme park there.. it's so cool to have a theme park in a shopping centre lor.. esp one that has rides that are actually fun.. BUT.. had ALOT of bruises afterwards... the safety thingy (ok i have no idea wat they are called) presses against yr shoulder very hard.. esp when u go upside down.. yeah.. sore shoulders.. but the worst bruise i got is this big one on my arm.. from what? the first ride.

yes. the amusement park is the best place for pple to learn abt centrifugal force. the first ride was this spinning thing. i was sitting on the outside with liling and weixuan sitting beside me. result? the thing spun and i got squashed against the side of the bar. and it hurt. and i was like out of breath. now i know how the sediment feels in a test tube undergoing spinning to seperate out the layers of different densities. ok but that wasnt the worst ride. the worst one was some crazy revolving thing. and i sat it 2 times in a row. result? i got real sick and felt like puking. yeah i really felt the vomit rush to my throat. urgh. so i felt sick and couldnt bring myself to ride the rollercoster in case i puked halfway. but after alot of laughter therapy playing bumper cars... i finally felt well enough to sit it. yeah and the rollercoster is like only 10% of that nausating ride.

ok. those pple that know me will know that i'm a non-shopper. As in i dun shop... esp not for myself.. i'm perfectly fine with going out to buy stuff for my frens.. but when it comes to myself i just cant do it. yeah i dun browse thru clothes.. i GLANCE... yep so 2 shopping days went by wif me buying absolutely nothing for myself. in the end.. not wanting to feel like an idiot.. i asked my frens to force me to buy something... so on the last day i was the owner of a nice new pink shirt thanks to eunice...

ok so KL is a GREAT place to shop.. the prices there are really quite low.. plus the food there is cheap.. BUT.. the traffic is harrowing.. the motorcycles dun care for any traffic rules.. and the zebra crossing is non-existant.. and the SMOG.. oh man that was horrible.. esp the walk back to the hotel from chinatown..

other things i've learned: indian poker is a great game to past time. to get cap 5.0... u must bochap the outside world like charles. weixuan, eunice, shirley and liling are afraid of cats.

ah well.. have tortured yr eyes for long enuff... :) gonna end here..
