the weather's cold again. idiotic. cant seem to make up it's mind. last wk was nice spring weather. now it's cold n wet again. ah well...
yes yes i havent been updating this blog. i'm a lazy pig, what can i say?
well nothing much happening over here now... lecs n tuts n pracs as usual... so what have i been up to last month? hmmm.. oh yes the weekend trip. you wont believe how much cows shit until u see them.... haha well the weather was horrific.. it was super cold n wet n windy n we had to continue our prac in the freezing rain.. u could see that everyone was like not listening anymore but just jumping ard trying to keep warm.. then the silly cow guy still can ask us if we want to walk around the paddocks to look at the bulls.. pls we're all dying already.. we were so glad when we got to certain activities that were under shelter...
the horses were real nice.. but the best animals of all were the alpacas.. they look like lamas excpet that they're much smaller.. really nice fleece too... we got to play n handle a few of the young ones.. n u wont believe it but alpacas hum. yes, they look as if they make donkey noises but no. they hum..like hmmmmm? hmmmmm? soooo bloody cute la their humming. then when they're scared they whine like a little puppy. but dont piss them off or scare them too much cos they'll spit.. haha!
well for the trip they let us go back earlier even though we havent covered everything cos the weather was really too bad... oh one of the days.. for dinner we went to this pub place n my friend ordered this lamb brain thingie. it's like lamb brain wrapped in bacon n bread crumbs n deep fried... i tasted one and it was.. erm... well it tasted ok but the texture... very jelly like.. n if u look closely u can really see the contusions n stuff on the brain...
well yeah i went back during the midsem break... two weeks break not bad... crashed laysh's forensic science lec n got to see lotsa gory pics... urgh.. well din do much stuff back home.. just relax n enjoy the break..
exams next month... mine starts on 8nov.. havent started studying yet.. and i dun think anyone's surprised.. cos i'm a lazy bum .. haha! ah well better start studying soon la...

WINDY LIKE HELL
ok i'm a nice person so since laysh asks me not to make the font bold i shall not. haha!
Ok so winter's ending/ended? and the sun is out again... the temperature is not that diff from winter but cos the sun is blazing, u dont feel cold. so pple are wearing shirts n shorts again. BUT. the start of this week the wind was soooo damn strong. seriously. it's like threatening to blow u away... anyone with umbrellas are looking for death in this weather... i'm by no means small and i can feel the strength of the wind... i can just abt imagine skinny pple like laysh being blown away like a dandelion in the wind(She claims she's getting fat but laysh putting on weight is like adding cotton to a scale)...
Argh lotsa tests and assignments these past few wks and the weeks to follow... cant wait for working with animals weekend field trip though.. should be fun! i'm so glad i took this sub... although got assignments to do there's very little contact hrs and super fun pracs :)
i finally went to book the learning permit test for driving... it's like the basic test back home.. test so that u can start learning how to drive... it's on tml! U know down here u get the results IMMEDIATELY and u get the learning permit driving licence IMMEDIATELY. then as i mentioned b4 after u get the licence u can drive as long as u have a supervising driver beside u.. dont need to be instructor,.. just someone with a proper licence... they expect u to like take a few lessons with a proper instructor then the rest of the time practice with a supervising driver...
finally... i'm coming back to s'pore for my midsem break!! it's the last 2 weeks of sept! yay! 2 weeks of no lectures n tuts n pracs! hooray! 3 cheers to qantas too.. they always have promotions at the time i want... cos i only fly back so frequently if got promotions :) doggies here i come!

I Hate Thinking Up Titles
my hand really itched to delete that previous post ... but i managed to stop myself. i mean like it's about time i came out of my shell and be a bit more truthful abt how i feel right? it's a good start for an otherwise emotionless freak who always only shows the most superficial feelings of what i think. shit i'm not making any sense to myself. but dont worry i'm stable( of course i am! isnt that the reason why pple use my shoulders? :D)
anyway yeah i watched The Wedding Crashes yesterday... and oh man that show is damn freakin funny!!! it's like the whole cinema groans and says 'ooohhhh shittt' at the same time.. and laugh their heads off... it's those kind of shows where you cringe cos it's abit sick but so damn funny at the same time. the critics din really give it a good rating but then they always do that for tasteless(yet suberbly funny) comedies anyway dont they.. and really boring artsy fartsy stuff get 5 stars.. hmm...
i dont thing s'pore's showing this tv series called 'House'... but it's really really good... it's a medical drama flick but with a really crass doc who is refreshingly direct and sarcastic with his patients. but he's a really good doc who cares abt his patients.. the irony... other good tv seriels- csi(all 3 of them of course), without a trace, numb3rs(i'm not an idiot it's really spelt like that..i remember them showing it in s'pore last time.. maybe axn? but anyway this show is really really cool...).. oh and not to forget..the simpsons! every weekday. aussies are in love with the simpsons which suits me just fine cos i love them too :)
going off to a sheep farm and a piggery tml for prac... heh get to wrestle sheep... and why do i have a feeling the sheep will win....
they're gonna have a singaporean students society annual ball here.. jointly organised by melb uni, monash n rmit.. it's gonna be at melb. aquarium.. quite cool i tink to hold it there.. then there's the pre and afterparty too... the really idiotic thing is that they love to hold it in the middle of the week...
i MUST remember to go book my learner's permit driving test.....
shit i have alot of work to do... lots of tuts n assignments n readings to do...

The Unlike-me Post
Sometimes, i really get on my own nerves.
everything's going great for me here.. school term's started for a while now and work is starting to pile up... but i'm doing ok.. been going to movies again... and clubbing.. and just visited other suburbs like chadstone and went to visit the monash uni campus... last sat i even went snowboarding... that was really cool... went over to mount buller and took a beginner's course on snowboarding... i was lucky cos it snowed really heavily 2 days before i arrived... temperature was -6 to 1 C but it was great... had lotsa fun trying to snowboard.. and falling down... and just lying in the snow making snow angels... i think i'm quite ok at snowboarding....
but.
why am i NOT feeling as great as i should be? i have absolutely no idea. for some out of this world reason i'm not feeling so good. i could start moaning and groaning and complaining about wat a f*cking pain in the ass life is but it wont be true cos life's just fine. plus that aint my style right? and that's not the style of my idiotic blog either... i usually write about flippant and trivial stuff... stuff that makes for a good read when u're brain damaged... and that's beside the point cos hardly any one comes here anyway...
great now i'm becoming cynical at myself.
ah well just a note the pic to the left is done by me.. that guy playing the piano is my imaginary manga character.. his name is Jaden X and i'll most probably be putting more drawings of him... and no he's not an image of any particular guy although if u do meet someone that looks like him and has all of his characteristics u are welcome to introduce him to me.
And i just realised that in that pic all u can see is his back. ah well.

Back in Melb...
well hols are over for me... back to lectures tml... good thing there's no tuts n pracs next week..:P
anyway... how was my holidays? of course... it's great to be home n sleep in your own bed.. wif my doggies! so cute! haha and YES they still remember me la... din go out much this whole month... just the occasional meeting... most of the time i was helping my mum design n paint stuff on the wall of her childcare... but when i DID get to meet up wif frens.. it was fun la.. esp teasing laysh and make her go "Carroolll!!!!!!".... hehe
hmm i think i've decided to take working wif animals after all.. i realised that it is actually Super Slack.... every wk got one 1hr lect... and the WHOLE SEM... only got TWO 3hr pracs, one wkend field trip.. and one computer prac... slack man!! of course need to hand in assignments la.. but wat other mod doesnt need to? so slack hor.. summore prac is go mini field trip... one of the prac is go melb zoo and see behind the scenes leh.. luckily i din change my elective yet if not i cannot access the site and see wat the timetable is really like...
well hopefully i'll wake up in time tml for my lectures.. even though i know first lecs are always crap lecs ....

Hmm....
haha better blog something before swi scolds me again...
hmm well lets see... went to pam's bday celebration last sat... got to gather and meet up so that was cool... haha unfortunately we spent most of the time in the chalet room watching TV... we have no life man! and then we decided to take a walk to stretch our legs... and ended up walking round the corner and sitting down again... hmm......
been looking thru subjects/mods so i can decide what elective to take next sem... haha oh btw that weird mod? it's a second year subject for the bachelor of arts major in Gender Studies. yeah that major has LOTSA weird naming mods... including one on witches....
was thinking of taking working wif animals last time.. but that sub quite heavy.. esp for an elective... also... it has a 3 hour prac and that sux cos all 3 of my core subjs have 3 hour pracs... i'll DIE if i have 4 3 hr pracs a week....
hmm was thinking of taking creative writing... but then that kind of mod quite risky... the lecturer not er... "creative" enough or dun like your "creativeness" then the projects sure die one... it's all subjective anyway ... i still dun understand how teachers grade like poems and stuff... u may think it's a work of art and they think it's crap.... the great thing bout this mod is that it only has 2.5 contact hours a week plus no final exam... hmmmmmmm....

Long Hours of Sunshine
After coming back to s'pore... i realise seriously how many hours of sunshine i've been missing.. 7pm here is like still so damn bright..... haha
oh well now that i'm back.... i've basically been slacking, slacking and more slacking. quite bored actually...:P
this morning i was waken up by... my aunty's damn dog.... BARK LIKE MAD NON-STOP FOR abt TEN MINUTES. wah lao that dog doesnt know how to shut up man... it's forever barking... the worse thing? my aunties DUNNO HOW TO SHUT THE DOG UP. they let the dog bark and bark and just ignore her... even if the dog is right beside them... occasionally they just go... "quiet... keep quiet girl..." in a normal voice... wah lao if i'm the dog i also wont shut up lor...
they really dunno how to handle a dog.. they let it pee all over MY HOUSE and dun care when she does.. they only care that the dog doesnt pee in their room or my grandma's... when the dog pees in MY ROOM and they KNOW it... they just pretend they din see it....
the dog barks at my whole family every single bloody day... as long as we walk up the stairs she barks like mad and wont stop. because my aunties let her bark. as if they are glad when she does... i think ultimately it's not the dog's fault... it's their fault for not training the dog... when they go to work ... the dog's as quiet as a mouse... except that she still pees on the floor sometimes.. the moment they get back she becomes a devil...
ah well dunno how i'm gonna spend my holidays... so bored... wonder how's rag coming along? float? dance?
ok going to carry on slacking now....

HOLIDAYSSSSSSS
YAY! exams over... means happy me!:)
haha the exam venue was like at the royal exhibition centre abt 10/15 mins away from the uni.. and it was nice inside...lots of murals and paintings and stuff... such an artsy place to be having exams... but watever!! no more exams le.....
went to see the great ocean road wif my mum today... see the twelve apostles n stuff... great scenery... i like london bridge! it's this natural rock formation in the shape of a bridge... and in 1990 london bridge REALLY fell down... haha!!! yeah so it's a fallen london bridge.. aparently 2 pple got stranded when it happened..... then there was this place called loch ard gorge... nice little gorge... nice beach and everything...
yep so bringing my mum ard now... cant wait to be back in s'pore!!!
heh going to my fren's place on mon to play xbox... woohooo!!

EXAMS next wk... sigh sigh sigh sigh sigh sigh sigh sigh....
exams exams exams. time to switch mugger mode on. hai... why does econs haveta be like one week after the rest of my papers.... hrm tink i'm gonna choose an elective next sem that's 1) slack like hell 2) minimal contact hours 3) passable even without attending lecs 4) NON-examinable ... which means i'll probably end up taking something weird...
do u know that they have really weird modules here... there's one on witchery...and listen to this man... i heard there's a mod called *drumroll* Nymphs, Sluts and Whores. I'm SERIOUS. what freakin mod is that i have absolutely no idea. i shld go check it out. haha imagine.. pple ask u wat u are taking... and u say that u're taking a really slutty module. hmmm... even better still... as my fren said... when yr parents see yr transcript they will absolutely have a fit... "pay so much for u to go study this kind of thing?!!"
had 5 bloody hours of revision lecs today... 3 for chem 2 for bio.. the damn lt for chem was stuffy and hot.... reminded me of sitting in an airplane.... at the end of the day...absolutely brain dead... oh for bio.. haha one of the lecturer was so bloody funny n open... he was talking abt pple emailing him questions.. and he was saying pls put a proper heading like the subject code etc... and not things like enlarging your penis (laughter here)... cos he assured us he did NOT need that kind of thing(more laughter).... cos he has forgotten how to use his(More groans n laughter)... not something u'll find back home huh...
yay went to buy some warm jackets with my mum(yeah she's here...came on friday )... weathers getting chilly plus wind is strong... so need warmer stuff :P

well i'm back from my WHIRLWIND TOUR of Singapore! haha i make myself sound like some biggie singer.... sigh back to studying... BUT... school's gonna be over soon! exams r nearing and after that... it's the REAL holidays for me.... cant wait!
haha my short trip back to s'pore was really really great.... felt like a nice relaxing holiday.. haiz too bad it was sooo short... for those of u who have absolutely no idea wat i am talking abt... i was in s'pore from last friday to yesterday.... had a scholarship interview... so now im keeping my fingers, toes, n eyes crossed... ok shut up carol...

went sentosa wif the sgmc pple too... and let me say once again i absolutely suck at volleyball... haha but it was fun to relax abit in the non-existant sun (it rained)... then we did abit of dummy kayaking in the unsinkable kayaks... why do i say dummy? cos the kayaks are like the play-play type lo.... and grrr.. matt n weijie capsized me!!! n they kept on hanging on to my kayak (they were in the water)... aiyoh so hard to paddle....
i LOVE singapore food!!! whoa really missed the local food.... taste soooo good.. enjoyed my char kuay tiao.. chicken rice.. hokkien mee.. carrot cake etc etc.... and they're soo cheap!
missing my doggies again... so cute... when i came back i stayed in the car.. then they ran out of the door n saw me... n casey jumped into the car but saphi couldnt... so she kept on running round n round the car trying to find another way in... haha... doggies doggies doggies... so nice to have them snuggle up against me .... haha my brother complains that when i'm away saphi goes to him.. but when i'm back she sticks to me n wont go to him... lol... cally's still as fat as ever.. haha.. casey put on weight n now has a nice firm, solid body...
had fun playing ps2 wif bro too... midnight club 3 is quite a cool game....
ARGH.. ok i shld go back n hit the books... plus catch up on all the lecs i've missed... oh had my fisrt prevet lunch today.. haha free food = good.
well i'm back from my WHIRLWIND TOUR of Singapore! haha i make myself sound like some biggie singer.... sigh back to studying... BUT... school's gonna be over soon! exams r nearing and after that... it's the REAL holidays for me.... cant wait!
haha my short trip back to s'pore was really really great.... felt like a nice relaxing holiday.. haiz too bad it was sooo short... for those of u who have absolutely no idea wat i am talking abt... i was in s'pore from last friday to yesterday.... had a scholarship interview... so now im keeping my fingers, toes, n eyes crossed... ok shut up carol...
hehe i did not mention this on my blog because.... it was meant to be a surprise for laysh!!! yup cos i was back in time for her birthday! hehe had such a fun time giving her a shock... plus swi n shoe n me were being so irritating n refusing to tell her why i was in s'pore.... haiz so fun to tease laysh n make her exasperated ... it's ok laysh.. i'll be back soon to continue teasing u.. haha! hope u had a great birthday! come visit me in melb soon! :)
went sentosa wif the sgmc pple too... and let me say once again i absolutely suck at volleyball... haha but it was fun to relax abit in the non-existant sun (it rained)... then we did abit of dummy kayaking in the unsinkable kayaks... why do i say dummy? cos the kayaks are like the play-play type lo.... and grrr.. matt n weijie capsized me!!! n they kept on hanging on to my kayak (they were in the water)... aiyoh so hard to paddle....
i LOVE singapore food!!! whoa really missed the local food.... taste soooo good.. enjoyed my char kuay tiao.. chicken rice.. hokkien mee.. carrot cake etc etc.... and they're soo cheap!

Evil Me...
feel absolutely evil.. so guilty ... haha i feel like i'm corrupting my fren... heh yesterday me n my frens brought another of my fren along for clubbing.. she's only been once n that wasnt really counted cos she never stayed there long enuff to dance...
haha so... she drank alot n u can see her getting high.. cos her dancing went from zilch to woohoo... haha then she wasnt walking very straight.. and then she says that this is very fun n we shld do it more often... everytime we went to the bar she would follow n order a drink... haha we even taught her how to lie to her mum and whether to pick up her mum's call (her mum's staying wif her)... we practically gave her a script.. aiyoh see la from a guai kia who studies too much in the library to a avid clubber wannabe... all we have to do now is get her to scream bloody f***ing hell and we'll have completely corrupted her... haha but that will be hard.. cos she doesnt even like to hear pple swearing... let alone say it... and she was still sober enough to ask my fren..."tsk.. why do u have to say the f word?" ok looks like she's not as drunk as we thought.. haha...

The Curse of the Black Soy Sauce bottle
i'm getting clumsier and clumsier these past few days... keep on banging into stuff or tripping or burning myself wif the oven... if this goes on i'll be falling out of bed when i wake up soon... dunno why getting so damn clumsy...
yeah and what's the curse of the black soy sauce bottle? well a few days ago.. i dropped n broke a bottle of black soy sauce.... it was 3/4 full and i was swimming in a pool of black sauce... so i had to clean and wipe up the whole mess... clumsy me.. and while i was cleaning the stuff... i cut myself on the broken pieces of glass... silly me again... it's horrible i tell u... cleaning black sauce... haiz... the only gd thing i can say? damn thankful it did not spill on the carpet....
ok so that was part one of the curse... and today the curse continued... while i was vacuuming the place... well aparently my cleaning up of the mess wasnt good enough.. cos i stepped on a piece of glass from the broken bottle.. how it managed to jump over the kitchen counter n land on the living room carpet i'll never know... yeah so i stepped on it and so i got a bloody cut on my bloody foot... yeah and while i was limping to my room to get tissue/plaster... i accidentally stepped on my belt which was on the floor... so now i have a bloody foot + a bloody belt.. bloody hell...
ah well.. that's life for you.... anyway... yeah my exam timetable come out liao... 6/6 bio... 7/6 physics... 9/6 chem... 15/6 econs... dammit why cant econs be earlier... there's like a 5 day gap inb2n... or econs shld swap with physics so that i can study more for that damn subject... haha and if it's earlier then got more time to go shopping n stuff wif my mum... :) anyway yeah i'll be flying back and reaching s'pore on the 23rd... haha i'll try to go nus for supper... but see if i'm too exhausted or not first.... and whether my family wanna have supper... but i'll definately go visit the science camp the next day... swi+laysh+shoe... must meet up too when i come back hor!
haiz my slack mode is permanently on now... i think i ate the switch to turn it off... someone pls tell me to study... i havent been studying since my bio mid sem test... haiz... well HAPPY HOLIDAYING pple... i sooooo look forward to mine....

Just Another Useless Blog Update
Haha decided to blog something before pple start scolding me again....
well i'm not slow in updating k... just that nothing much to update anyway... :P hmmm.... weather here getting cold now... actually this is one of the hottest aprils in melb history... hehe like 3 days ago it was top of 27... the 2nd highest in april ever... ok i know it doesnt sound very hot but this is right smack in the middle of autumn n the usual high for the day is like 18... not 27... hahah.. well getting colder n colder n soon i shall freeze when i walk to uni in the mornings... the temperature is getting more autumn-like now... trees changing colour n dropping leaves... i just luv to step on the fallen leaves n hear them snap n crackle... heh...
heh yeah i know it's reallly hot now in s'pore... :P my mum says the solar heater at home is working TOO good now..
haiz my exam timetable comes out in may (aka today)... and i just went to check... and... ARGH.. they having a system maintainence from 5-7pm.. and when i looked at my clock... it was 5.01 pm... idiotic.. why couldnt i have logged on like 5 mins earlier? now i have to wait 2 hrs b4 i can check my exam timetable...
yay my mum's coming over on 27th may to visit.. cant wait... :)
the sun is setting earlier n earlier... it's 5.25 now and it's getting darker already.. the sun usually sets ard 5.45 these days.. at this rate during winter dunno wat time the sun sets... haha this is a good motivation not to sleep in too late.. cos if u do then u'll hardly get to see any sunlight... LOL...
heh most of u would have finished yr exams by now... enjoying life now eh? hehe for those who still have papers... a few more days n it's all over... :) for me i cant wait for my holidays to come..
i aim to join a protest one of these days... haha! cant do that back home can i...
oh i did the rat dissection on friday... it was fine la... except that thee formaldehyde was really stinky... u know the guys at my table were more squemish then the girls... oh there was this guy at the next table who got a HUGE rat.. and i mean huge... everyone else's was like average sized rat.. his looked like a cat. serious. it was the size of a cat.
oh well gotta go back to my econs assignment... and waiting for the damn system maintainence to be over....

Yep finally posted photos... go HERE to view the photos...and yes they DO have my face in them this time.. haha!
been really busy last 2 weeks wif all the mid sem tests... but glad they're all over! physics prac is really really boring man.. absolutely boring.. i hate writing all the stupid reports... luckily last wk was just abstract writing so it was short... hrm gonna have a new physics demonstrator for the next demi-semester... haiz one of the only things to look forward to for physics prac is that my demonstrator is eye candy... haha hope the new one is cute too if not physics prac will be more of a torture... nothing much to say bout chem prac.. except that liquid nitrogen is damn cool... for bio we haveta create our own slides by slicing specimens wedged in a carrot block with a razor blade... haha it sound silly but it's harder then it looks... cos u haveta get the thing really really thin... gonna do a rat dissection next week! finally get to do some 'real' prac... haha!
hmmm last friday went to this club called castle... there was this ms chinese university pagent going on... the girls arent particularly pretty but at least they looked better in person then on the promo pics... the club... is the same as s'pore la.. loud music and alot of alcohol... downstairs was r n b... upstairs was canto pop n techno (SHUDDER)... of course i stayed downstairs... haha.. oh the funny thing is.. alcohol bought from the liqour stalls here is DAMN cheap.. not only beer but hard liqour too.. but at the clubs is so damn expensive... some drinks are even more ex then in s'pore... haha so if u want to get drunk just go grab a bottle from the liquor stall...
yay happy that i've got a long weekend... tml's a public hol over here in Australia... Anzac day... some war memorial day la..
oh u know what? i din expect melb uni to keep in contact wif my jc... as in i got this deans honours award for my entry score into the uni... as in for my a lvls la... strange huh they start giving out awards even b4 u do any exams in the uni... haha... so dumb they give just based on entry score... that's practically no basis at all!! but yeah how i know they contact SA? cos my CT (yeah it's mrs leow...haha) send me a mail to congratulate me on behalf of the school.. weird man...
yeah i know everyone's busy with exams now... just wanna wish u all GOOD LUCK for your exams! dont worry u can do it! RELAX n dun be so stressed pls... you're just a few days away from your long long holidays! :)

Easter Hols
Dammit. Last day of the Easter break. Haiz. back to school tomorrow....... well so what have been doing this past easter week?
Friday: went to visit a bar on friday night... actually me n my friends wanted to visit this club but the queue was amazingly long so we din... the long island tea at the pub taste different then in singapore (maybe it's an aussie taste?).. had a very distinct honey flavour in it... when we left the bar it was ard 2am and the queue for the club was still crazy even at that hour....
Saturday: Bummed around, watched anime, went shopping for easter feast...
Sunday: Easter party at my apartment... just a few neighbours n friends... i cooked for everyone!! haha! had fun time preparing all the food... not bad i actually cooked for 7 pple... after that we watched 2 dvds.. ate potato chips n a big easter egg! haha fun... watched this french show(brotherhood of the wolves - weird show but kinda interesting) n The Gift (i realised i watched it b4 but had forgotten the whole story.... oh btw swi i'm sure u know that keanu reeves acts in this show...haha!)... watched till like 5am then talked for a while... the thing is ... i was meeting my friends at 10am ... and i got to sleep at ard... 7? yeah so i slept for like 2 hrs bah...
Monday: yes because i only slept for 2 hrs... i was late for meeting my friends... haha.. we went to the beach... st kilda... nice place... but dammit when we got there it was freakin cold.. haha.. and when we left it was hot n nice n sunny... so suay... haha... but they have really nice looking cake shops there.. all the cakes displayed so nicely at the window... so preettyyy... haha... had a nice little picnic there...
tuesday: werribee safari day... took a train wif neighbours to werribee ... then took a bus to the safari.. haha passed alot of vegetable farms along the way... lots n lots lettuce plots.. nice little rows of green ..hee.. the place is not bad.. we took a ride on this bus n it brought us around the safari.... passed by lots of animals... but too bad no lions on the prowl.. the lions only can see them in an enclosure.... well anyway the only animals to be seperated from the safari n the bus were the hippos.. cos they're so territorial n dangerous.. got an electric fence seperating them from the water hole n the bus... got a great shot of a male hippo bearing it's teeth n showing aggression towards the bus.. i like the rhinos too.. there's a baby rhino that's only 4 months old there.. cute.. haha.. n there were meerkats in an enclosure too.. i love them! kawaii!!
well but for me i think the most adventurous part of the safari was.... going home.. haha! the bus (it's a public bus) was suppose to be at the bus stop at 5pm... we n a few other grps of pple were waiting at the bus stop even b4 5.. and we waited there for an hour and the bus never showed up... yeah so we realised that the bus wasnt coming... maybe the driver forgot abt daylight saving???? anyway yeah and the whole place was closed cos the place closed at 5... so there we were making a whole joke out of it saying it would be so cool to stay overnight ... haha... but well so me n my frens decided to walk back to the train station ourselves... we sort of remembered the route back.. haha.. then the rest of the stranded group met up with this staff from the safari n they called a private bus to take the pple back... $60 for the whole bus... but me n my frens din want to pay (ok so it wasnt that much money after u divide among everyone) and we were raring for an adventure.. haha.. so we decided to continue n walk... so after getting some directions (turn left, then left again, then straight all the way)... we walked off.. it was getting to be dark soon so we had to hurry to the main road b4 the sky turned dark ( there's no street lights cos it's a rural road)....
ok the most adrenaline rushing part of our walk back? when we were almost reaching the main road.. the sun was setting n the sky was really pretty so we were just about to take out our cams when this huge (i really mean huge) roitweller dashed out n started barking and growling at us... it was in the driveway of it's house but the gate was wide open... i tell u we were all shocked... plus we could hear another dog in the distance... so we all slowly walked away avoiding eye contact n the dog let us pass... well i guess it was just doing it's job protecting it's territory.. but the thing is we were lucky cos we just crossed the road (we needed to make a left turn remember?) and the dog was on the right.. if we had walked a few metres more... we would have been right smack in the middle of the dog's territory.. well after that the walk was nice but uneventful... total time taken? 1 hr and 15 mins to walk there.
when i got back.. watched movie wif my friends.. miss congeniality 2.. funny stuff...
Wednesday: cooking n "study" day.... hehe went to a prevet fren's house to study wif a grp of coursemates... i like her apartment.. very nice.... well the thing is besides claudine(her house)... everyone else is not a study person.. we all were soooo slack n could only study wif her ard.. haha! and at one pt of time she had to leave the house to meet her sister.... n when she got back she found me n my fren eating potato chips n watching dvds.. haha! well at least i did more studying in her house then i had done the whole wk... hehe n we cooked ba kut teh for lunch... good stuff.. n had pasta for dinner.....
thursday n friday: went to healesville wif frens to visit this girl we met in mountaineering club... healesville is sort of a rural area and so i got to experience what it's like to live in a real aussie house... she had a vege garden and lot's of the stuff were from her gardern... and there were these HUGE zuchinnis.... she grew tomatoes n beans n pumpkin n lemons too... plus she kept chickens for eggs too.. oh and there was this fig tree n we just plucked the figs and ate them.. very sweet.... for dinner we had potatoes n salad n ham.. and had pancakes wif ice cream for breakfast... oh yeah and they make their own honey too.. they keep bees n harvest the honey themselves... sweet... went for a little nature walk after breakfast.. then it was back to melbourne....
Saturday: meant to do my work.. but ended up watching anime the whole day.. haha! am watching fruits basket now.. funny funny... yep laysh i finally get to see this anime! haha! in aussieland of all places... well at least i did a little of my econs assignment..... haiz see la my fren brought along like this gigantic anime collection from singapore... so now how to study?? i'm forever borrowing his anime ...... hiaz hiaz...
Sunday (today): planning to finish my econs assignment.. then go on and do my tutorials... haiz....

tuesday: werribee safari day... took a train wif neighbours to werribee ... then took a bus to the safari.. haha passed alot of vegetable farms along the way... lots n lots lettuce plots.. nice little rows of green ..hee.. the place is not bad.. we took a ride on this bus n it brought us around the safari.... passed by lots of animals... but too bad no lions on the prowl.. the lions only can see them in an enclosure.... well anyway the only animals to be seperated from the safari n the bus were the hippos.. cos they're so territorial n dangerous.. got an electric fence seperating them from the water hole n the bus... got a great shot of a male hippo bearing it's teeth n showing aggression towards the bus.. i like the rhinos too.. there's a baby rhino that's only 4 months old there.. cute.. haha.. n there were meerkats in an enclosure too.. i love them! kawaii!!
well but for me i think the most adventurous part of the safari was.... going home.. haha! the bus (it's a public bus) was suppose to be at the bus stop at 5pm... we n a few other grps of pple were waiting at the bus stop even b4 5.. and we waited there for an hour and the bus never showed up... yeah so we realised that the bus wasnt coming... maybe the driver forgot abt daylight saving???? anyway yeah and the whole place was closed cos the place closed at 5... so there we were making a whole joke out of it saying it would be so cool to stay overnight ... haha... but well so me n my frens decided to walk back to the train station ourselves... we sort of remembered the route back.. haha.. then the rest of the stranded group met up with this staff from the safari n they called a private bus to take the pple back... $60 for the whole bus... but me n my frens din want to pay (ok so it wasnt that much money after u divide among everyone) and we were raring for an adventure.. haha.. so we decided to continue n walk... so after getting some directions (turn left, then left again, then straight all the way)... we walked off.. it was getting to be dark soon so we had to hurry to the main road b4 the sky turned dark ( there's no street lights cos it's a rural road)....
ok the most adrenaline rushing part of our walk back? when we were almost reaching the main road.. the sun was setting n the sky was really pretty so we were just about to take out our cams when this huge (i really mean huge) roitweller dashed out n started barking and growling at us... it was in the driveway of it's house but the gate was wide open... i tell u we were all shocked... plus we could hear another dog in the distance... so we all slowly walked away avoiding eye contact n the dog let us pass... well i guess it was just doing it's job protecting it's territory.. but the thing is we were lucky cos we just crossed the road (we needed to make a left turn remember?) and the dog was on the right.. if we had walked a few metres more... we would have been right smack in the middle of the dog's territory.. well after that the walk was nice but uneventful... total time taken? 1 hr and 15 mins to walk there.
when i got back.. watched movie wif my friends.. miss congeniality 2.. funny stuff...
Wednesday: cooking n "study" day.... hehe went to a prevet fren's house to study wif a grp of coursemates... i like her apartment.. very nice.... well the thing is besides claudine(her house)... everyone else is not a study person.. we all were soooo slack n could only study wif her ard.. haha! and at one pt of time she had to leave the house to meet her sister.... n when she got back she found me n my fren eating potato chips n watching dvds.. haha! well at least i did more studying in her house then i had done the whole wk... hehe n we cooked ba kut teh for lunch... good stuff.. n had pasta for dinner.....
thursday n friday: went to healesville wif frens to visit this girl we met in mountaineering club... healesville is sort of a rural area and so i got to experience what it's like to live in a real aussie house... she had a vege garden and lot's of the stuff were from her gardern... and there were these HUGE zuchinnis.... she grew tomatoes n beans n pumpkin n lemons too... plus she kept chickens for eggs too.. oh and there was this fig tree n we just plucked the figs and ate them.. very sweet.... for dinner we had potatoes n salad n ham.. and had pancakes wif ice cream for breakfast... oh yeah and they make their own honey too.. they keep bees n harvest the honey themselves... sweet... went for a little nature walk after breakfast.. then it was back to melbourne....
Saturday: meant to do my work.. but ended up watching anime the whole day.. haha! am watching fruits basket now.. funny funny... yep laysh i finally get to see this anime! haha! in aussieland of all places... well at least i did a little of my econs assignment..... haiz see la my fren brought along like this gigantic anime collection from singapore... so now how to study?? i'm forever borrowing his anime ...... hiaz hiaz...
Sunday (today): planning to finish my econs assignment.. then go on and do my tutorials... haiz....

Easter easter easter!!
yay easter wk hols coming... a week of no classes!! yay!! going to werribee safari wif my neighbours... n to the beach n a road trip wif my coursemates... hope it's gonna be fun fun fun...
just had 2 test this morn... was ok la... nothing too difficult.. i mean how diff can a 20min physics test be?? that's not enuff time for u to think properly so they haveta give easy qns.. haha...
i simply love cooking! it's so bloody fun! plus it gives me the perfect excuse not to study!!! i love just experimenting wif the ingredients and making new dishes...
currently i am multi tasking... writing this blog... chatting wif frens.. and doing my bio tut for tml at the same time.. haha! n my frens and i are torturing ourselves talking abt singapore food.. so damn hungry now!!! i want my char siew bau....
i'm so jealous.. my fren has a dog in her aptment... so fun to play wif her doggie.. i want my dogs! hmph... i wanna keep a feret! so cute! sigh..... oh i'm gonna take this course next sem.. called working wif animals.. that supposedly one of the projects is that they give u an animal n you're suppose to record it's daily activities... it's not even a vet module! cool right!! i hope i get a feret! haha! not a boring ol tortoise or sumthing....

Ohr Cheh Galore...
Heh well back from caving... wonderful experience... get to add more orh chehs to my already growing collection.. if this continues on i'll never be able to wear shorts out again... ever.. haha!
well i have to say caving is really fun... and contrary to wat pple normally think.. the entrances to caves are not these huge gaping holes u see in movies.. haha those are probably bear caves?? heh anyways it's more common to find caves with really small entrances..
yup so caving is NOT a sport for the... meaty type? haha i guess it all depends on the cave u go but the one i went.. it was really squeezy at some places..
well anyway the cave i went was called Labertouche (say Lah-Ber-Toosh) .. it's a granite cave... lots of nice shiny gold coloured flakes on the rocks.. haha... from one opening to the next... its only ard 300m ON THE SURFACE... aka it's DISPLACEMENT is 300m... below it's winding in n out plus scrambling up and down rocks.. we took 4 hrs to complete the thing...
well first we decended thru a TINY opening via a ladder tied to a tree... the cave's really cold.. the weather outside was quite warm but it's cold in the cave.. the rocks are so cold that my hands were freezing... cos they were muddy n we haveta keep on holding on to the rocks so yeah yr hands freeze.. oh yeah there's an underground creek in the cave.. really cool.. until u step in it and get yr shoes all wet and squishy that is.. haha..
but yeah it was alot of climbing and scrambling there.. haveta use yr whole body n try and move yrself up the rocks... or down the rocks for that matter... some parts are really tough n scary.. esp when there's a large gaping hole... TIRING man... n... i din wear long sleeves! sigh... scratchy scratchy....
oh and some parts it's really a TIGHT squeeze.. when i say tight i mean tight... i pity some of the guys on the trip... must be really squeezy for them man! haha... u have ta get down on yr hands and knees.. sometimes even yr belly.. and crawl from one place to another... so glad when there's a clearing n u can STAND up... haha..
well got alot of orh chehs now... sigh... but was worth it.. so fun.. yeah i guess u'll only do these kinds of things when u study overseas in places like here? i mean firstly there's not much to explore in s'pore... u'd haveta get out of the country and that's not always very convinient.. here u can do all sorts of fun stuff just a few hrs drive away... plus the club basically does all the preparative work for u... also... i guess it's just the thrill of living somewhr else that makes u wanna explore... i have 2 tests next wk and i've barely touched my work.. slacking all day and watching ANIME borrowed from my fren... i'm too slack.. i need to start studying more... i mean all i haveta do is pass my exams to go on next year... but why settle for passing when u can try for something better? ah well... next wk is easter hol week.. maybe will go more places... tasmania? who knows...

Camping wkend
I'm finally getting to REALLY experience life overseas! As in not just living in a new country.. but trying out stuff that u'll never get to do back home! yay!
yep well just got back on sunday from a really fun weekend... i went for this intro course held by the mountaineering club.. went to this place called cathedrals national park.. it's like more than 2 hrs drive away from melbourne..
there's this place along the way called black spur.. the road there is really dangerous and winds in and out.. plus by the time we got to that stretch i was getting late.. but the scenery there is fabulous... at one stretch of the road... the trees there are all soooo tall and thin and straight.. it's like a tunnel of trees.... beeeaautiful man... the trees are all the same height too.. cos they are all the same age... wanna know why? well even if u dun i'll tell u anyway...
well it's kind of ironic actually.. that area was previously a logging area... but while the logging was going on there was a fire that wiped out the whole area... so the loggers planted trees so that they could log them next time (tat's y the trees are so straight!)... haha the thing is that b4 they could start the logging.. the place got turn into a national park.. so the loggers essentially created a beauiful national park!
well yeah and my car almost ran over a bunny on the way.. haha it was just sitting on the road and i think it got stunned by the headlights.. but yeah we jam braked and the rabbit just stared at the car.. then it started running.. but forward.. so we honked and finally the silly bunny hopped to the side of the road..luckily we managed to see the bunny cos it was dark by then and there;s no street lights..
yup got to see lot's of wildlife too.. REAL wildlife.. haha i mean i've seen kangaroos b4 but WILD kangaroos a couple of metres away from u? that's cool i tell u.. plus there were joeys too! yeah and there was this sick wombat that kept on coming to the campsite for 2 nights straight.. it had mange and the wildlife rescuers were trying to catch it to treat it... oh yeah saw a wild koala to! now that's hard to find... haha lots of kookaburas around.. they really do sound like they're laughing when they cry out.. plus there's these flock of birds i call the bird mob.. really funny birds that swoop down tgt and walk on the GROUND like a mob...
well anyway what's more exciting is what activities there were... i did rock climbing first.. and i can tell u it's a zillion times more fun to do it on a real rock than the indoor stuff... there's different grades for the rock walls ... the first one i did was the hardest out of the bunch that they let us do.. but it was still relatively easy.. a grade 10 or sumthing.. but the wall was quite smooth though.. haveta really find good footholds and stuff.. then later they let those who wanted to try more challanging stuff to try another wall... i tell u that was HARD man... plus i had no idea i was trying the grade 18 one.. haha i got to the top though i CHEATED.. i took a detour and went by the route beside me(i tink it was the grade 14/16 route)... lol but good fun though...
yep and after lunch was kayaking! River kayaking that is.. i tell u the river is freezinf man.. icy cold... they made pple learn wet exits right at the start and when it was my turn.. i got a shock when i hit the water.. it was sooooo damn bloody cold lor.. yeah and my spray skirt (they gave everyone the wetsuit material type) was soo damn tight it took 2 other pple excluding me to get it on.. so it was so damn hard to get it off when i capsize... plus my fingers were all numb.. oh yeah they made everyone wear thermals for the kayaking.. good thing .. cos they really keep u warm even if they're wet.. yeah so the fun parts were going down the rapids.. they taught us how to get into the rapids from the eddy and how to enter the eddy from the rapids.. the rapids were really cool.. but too bad there was so little of that on this trip.. but yeah it was fun going up and down.. haha right at the very end.. i capsized when i was trying to exit the last and strongest rapid... yeah that was the ok part.. the part i din like was the one when they threw me a rope to pull me in... cos they were pulling me against the current and the water was going over my head ... and i could barely hold on cos my fingers were so cold.. when i finally got on land.. i could hardly feel my fingers.. seriously.. they were totally numb... haha but well it was a great experience though...
lastly.. bushwalking.. they split us up into diff groups.. the real garang ones went to jawbone mountain.. they really had to do bush slashing man.. tough...plus they climbed to the peak too... another grp did "real" bush walking.. they walked for like 3/4 hrs straight.. hhaha.. my grp was the shortest trip.. but i tink they shouldnt call it bushwalking.. more like ROCK SCRAMBLING... yeah basically we were scrambling up and down rocks.. climbing up the cliffs... kinda like rock climbing without the ropes... we had to go thru this cave at one pt... that was damn cool man.. literally... the cave was soooo cooling.. we were like all hugging the rock... so cold and nice..but it was really narrow... we had to take off our backpacks and throw it in front of us at every step if not we'll get stuck.. yeah and we had to climb up sideways cos some pts were really narrow.. but it was real fun.. when we reached the top( my mountain was call sugarloaf mountain btw.. cute name for a mountain eh?) we had lunch there.. saw this huge lizard.. and our guide fed the lizard tuna and it LOVED it.. haha.. oh and the only place in the park with hand phone reception is at the top of the mountain...
well the only thing i HATED abt the trip was the bloody freakin flies.. there were soooo many of them and they kept swarming ard everyone.. cant eat in peace.. cant even SIT in peace...
ok i realised i've talked ALOT already.. will post photos up when i get them from my frens...

Mumble, mumble, mumble
Well. With swi pressuring me to update my blog.. here i am.. haha
anyway.. yeah so far everything's fine over here.. been going out wif my neighbours or vet pple in my spare time.. just exploring.. abit of window shopping.. and BUYING GROCERIES...
ok this place is really much more liberal and the pple are much more vocal ard here... the guys and pervs will be happy to know that they show RA stuff after a certain time at night. oh yeah and they're age limit for RA movies is 18... haha and they have alot of adverts with double meaning... here's an example... it's an ad for a mint sweet (not the chewy type)..
the ad starts off wif a guy and a woman lying in bed and the woman is just turning awa from him. the guy looks embaressed and says sorry... the woman just smiles and reaches for a mint out of a packet on the side table. the caption? " At least some things in life stay smooth, hard and long-lasting..." go figure.
but i must mention one thing. aussie ads are usually not so straightforward as the one above. .. most of the time.. they are just plain stupid, lame or incomprehensible... seriously.. i dunno howmany times me n my housemate/neighbours have watched an ad and go HUH?!.. they seriously dont make sense...
oh yes and the on-campus halls are all mixed. yeah and the toilets in the halls(or collages as they call them here) are also mixed.. even the showers... BUT they have seperate cubicles la.. what are u thinking u pervert?! haha.. anyway alcohol consumption is allowed in the halls.. in fact one of their daily rituals is to get themselves drunk at the end of everyday... they drink beer like water... cos it is so cheap here...
alcohol is also allowed in the uni.. plus smoking is allowed too.. of course not in buildings la.. they have a pub in the uni.. called the u bar.. and they frequently organise pub crawls...
anyway.. they show ALOT of SIMPSONS here! my fav! yay!!! haha i watch the simpsons practically everyday here... oh and they also show alot of CSI! All 3 of them! :)
oh btw the textbks here are REALLY expensive.. practically everybook is ard A$100 - 200 .. yes and i'm sooo glad i got mcmurry back in s'pore.. cos it's over a hundred bucks here... ok i know this blog entry seems to have no structure.. i seem to be just mumbling.. cos that is exactly what i am doing... i'm just writing watever comes to mind....
heh i CAN cook ... yes i can.. i've been cooking dinner all by myself for the past few days.. me n housemate taking turns each week... and seriously they taste quite good... haha!
well going off on a mini expedition this weekend.. it's a introductory trip organised by the mountaineering club(yes i know it's shocking but i'm in it).. going to the cathedrals national park(wherever that is) for a weekend of kayaking, rock climbing and bushwalking... have to pack! argh!
oh yes... i also want to mention.. the pple here are really vocal.. in class and out of class.. in lectures they really do put up their hands to ask qns or answer them.. and they have alot of rallies going on.. they are forever handing out flyers and stuff and asking pple to sign petitions against the war in iraq.. and once i saw this grp of pple protesting against deforestation or sumthing and there were mounted police( abit of er kiasuism in my opinion.. the grp was so small! normal policewould be fine.. y bring the horses in?!) anyway melb is quite dead compared to other places like sydney.. but that's good.. cos although there's not much to do.. it's also safer.. the riots in sydney have been going on for a long time now and pple are still at it...
ah well i tink i've said enuff.. will update more when more stuff gets into my head...
anyway.. yeah so far everything's fine over here.. been going out wif my neighbours or vet pple in my spare time.. just exploring.. abit of window shopping.. and BUYING GROCERIES...
ok this place is really much more liberal and the pple are much more vocal ard here... the guys and pervs will be happy to know that they show RA stuff after a certain time at night. oh yeah and they're age limit for RA movies is 18... haha and they have alot of adverts with double meaning... here's an example... it's an ad for a mint sweet (not the chewy type)..
the ad starts off wif a guy and a woman lying in bed and the woman is just turning awa from him. the guy looks embaressed and says sorry... the woman just smiles and reaches for a mint out of a packet on the side table. the caption? " At least some things in life stay smooth, hard and long-lasting..." go figure.
but i must mention one thing. aussie ads are usually not so straightforward as the one above. .. most of the time.. they are just plain stupid, lame or incomprehensible... seriously.. i dunno howmany times me n my housemate/neighbours have watched an ad and go HUH?!.. they seriously dont make sense...
oh yes and the on-campus halls are all mixed. yeah and the toilets in the halls(or collages as they call them here) are also mixed.. even the showers... BUT they have seperate cubicles la.. what are u thinking u pervert?! haha.. anyway alcohol consumption is allowed in the halls.. in fact one of their daily rituals is to get themselves drunk at the end of everyday... they drink beer like water... cos it is so cheap here...
alcohol is also allowed in the uni.. plus smoking is allowed too.. of course not in buildings la.. they have a pub in the uni.. called the u bar.. and they frequently organise pub crawls...
anyway.. they show ALOT of SIMPSONS here! my fav! yay!!! haha i watch the simpsons practically everyday here... oh and they also show alot of CSI! All 3 of them! :)
oh btw the textbks here are REALLY expensive.. practically everybook is ard A$100 - 200 .. yes and i'm sooo glad i got mcmurry back in s'pore.. cos it's over a hundred bucks here... ok i know this blog entry seems to have no structure.. i seem to be just mumbling.. cos that is exactly what i am doing... i'm just writing watever comes to mind....
heh i CAN cook ... yes i can.. i've been cooking dinner all by myself for the past few days.. me n housemate taking turns each week... and seriously they taste quite good... haha!

Heh well finally put some pics of my room up.. maybe i'll put some pics of melb up ... but that will be later.. haha..
anyway the weather is totally screwed up here.. u guys just finished a heat wave yeah? well
well skool's started and boring lectures as usual... kinda tired now so wont be posting anything long this time.. will tell u guys more abt melb and the uni and the lecturers and the weird stuff..autumns suppose to be on it's way and the past 2 days it was burning... now it's cold like hell (hmm.. some sort of contradiction here eh?) .. 2 days ago... i woke up at ard 8am freezing .. i was really shivering.. and i walked to skool in 12 degrees weather wif cold wind... and i walked back home a few hrs later in a blazing 35 degrees sun... yes that's a change of 23d in a span of like 4 hrs... stoopid weather.. keep on taking on and off jacket...

Carol in Melb(cont)
Things u never asked to know abt melbourne but i'm going to tell u now cos this is my blog and i can say what ever i want.
- the weather here is super dry. my lips are cracking and my skin is dry and peeling. If u ever wanna come here... pls bring along lip balm and moisturizer.
- australia has the highest incidence of skin cancer. cos of the more-than-usual uv rays that shine down on this part of the earth. even in the cool weather... walking in the sun doesnt feel hot or anything but u realise when u get back u get a sun burn. if u are going out in the sun for a long time.. even if u are not at the beach or sumthing.. pls bring along sun block.
- this place is big on saving the earth. as in cutting down on the use of plastic bags. in the supermarts they encourage pple to buy those cloth bags of theirs to put the groceries instead of plastic bags and the pple really do buy them. u see alot of pple carrying those cloth bags to supermarts. In ikea.. u can either buy their reusable blue bags.. or pay 10c for each plastic bag.. so most pple wif cars dont bag their stuff b4 loading into cars.. n lotsa pple say "no thanks i dun need a bag"...
- now's summer time n their reservoirs are at a low.. so they have stage1/2/3 of water conservation in place...
- "Flake" is shark meat.
- pple like to tie up their dogs outside the supermart whilet they shop.
- u get to see guide dogs for the disabled... plus i saw a guide puppy in training... :)
- they have quarantine dogs at the airport terminals who go round sniffing yr luggage for any illegal items at the baggage collection area.
- the pple like to seat on grass. any spot of nice looking grass and u'll find pple sitting, reading, picnicing, sun tanning, sleeping on it. even that realtively small plot of grass infront of the state library in the middle of the CITY.
- aussie slang for mosquitoes is mozzies.

Reality Check
I woke up on the day of my flight wif my heart pounding and my adrenaline pumping. Now i know wat it means to "wake up with a start". my doggies were sleeping on my bed beside me as usual.. everything looked the same.. but i knew that today was not the same. reality check: i'm going to melbourne today. i brought my dogs out for one last walk just hours before.. taking pics in the park... and today.. i'll have to say goodbye...
Farewell
i must really say a big big thanks to those pple who came to see me off... to those who couldnt make it for one reason or another.. dun worry i totally understand... and thanks for even wanting to come down! Well took lots of photos at the airport.. had my JC frens and NUS frens.. so sorry if i din spend enuff time with either grps... oh yes and a thanks for the pressies.. a nice nice nice collage of photos from swi laysh and shoe... and a bag and furry slippers and cards fr the nus pple... plus the towel from swei, cookies fr grace and the cute little earrings and pendent from shoe and benny... not forgetting the other stuff i got from other pple earlier on...
haha thought i saw a few glimmering eyes from shoe and laysh and MY BROTHER.. but glad that it wasnt a sappy gdbye... cos it aint really goodbye.. but after saying that i myself am guitly of a sappy gdbye... cos at home.. just b4 the taxis arrived.. i grabbed my dogs and hugged them.. and when the taxis came.. i couldnt help it.. i just cried.. the tears wouldnt stop flowing.. and i DONT cry easily... from the days leading up to that day.. i din feel anything much.. but at that moment i knew that it was REALLY happening... and i guess all the emotions that had been lacking so far just poured out...

reached melbourne at ard 6 plus melb time... was really quite cold....
summer? what summer?
yes. it was cold.. on the day i reached the high for the day was 20 low of 14. remember this is the middle of summer.. and the wind is cold. the sun maybe shining.. but when u stand in the shade it's really a few degrees colder.. and the winds are like 15 degrees.... yeah and u dun need aircon cos the nights are cold...
Ah.. yes.. summer...
after saying abt the cold temp... a few days later it was HOT.. high of 33.. but the winds were still cold though... but yes hot and summer like.. plus the sun sets at like NINE pm... yeah all the signs of summer... BUT.. for the past few days only that day was a hot one.. the rest are cold... with highs from 21-24.. u really need a jacket wif u no matter what season it is..
Holidaying
since i arrived with a few days to spare.. me and my family went out to explore the area.. the roads in melb are very easy to navigate cos everything is laid out in a grid pattern.. i tink i know where most of the shopping centres and stuff are now.. and i tried out the tram system already.. i havent tried their buses.. but their main tspt system is their tram.. it is super efficient.. it comes like every 1-2 MINS.. wow.. yeah went to philip island to look at th penguins but unfortunately it's not a very gd season cos most of the penguins are moulting and dun go out to sea so there's not many penguins to see...
College Square
my apartment is really quite nice. i thot i would be small and cramp.. but really.. it's quite spacious.. kinda like some condos in s'pore... plus i happened to get the apartment wif the nice nice layout... but there was some screw up wif my internet there cos some of the wiring was wrong or sumthing.. but luckily it got sorted out today.. my apartment is situated on lygon st.. a mini little italy.. lots of italian shops..
haha oh yes swi.. i do have the photo thingie up right infront of my desk.. haha.. oh and u know the feeling u get when u stay at hotels? like it gets real cold at night? and when u go and bathe the moment u step out of shower u freeze? and when u wake all u wanna do is to snuggle cos the weather is so comfy? well i'll be experiencing that for the next 5 years.. the slippers really came in handy guys! really keeps my feet warm esp in the bathroom! oh the whole place is carpeted execpt the kitchen and toilet... it's a norm here cos of the weather..
University of Melbourne
It's big. Real big. it takes forever to walk from one place to another. it's 15-20 mins walk from my apartment.. what the heck i need the exercise...
Food n stuff
is totally expensive. they do have food courts but the prices there are like ave $A8-10... and if it's outside restaurants it's like ave $A12-20 depending on the location and food u order.. some stuff is actually quite reasonable... like printers.. and some groceries.. oh if u buy from the market some of the things like veggie and fruits are cheaper here.. and meat too.. if from supermart prices are more ex.. but if u buy their homebrand it's really quite cheap.. oh their milk is really cheap.. haha.. they've got certain stores like BIG W which sells cheap household and electrical stuff too.. oh went to their ikea.. it's just abt identical to s'pore.. haha... plus the stuff they sell there are cheap too...
ok i think i've written enuff for today.. will continue to update stuff soon.. plus add photos.. been rather busy buying stuff for the apartment... i've never done so much shopping in s'pore before.. haha!

Aussie land, here i come
Gonna fly off tonight... yep going to start a new chapter of my life in aussie land... studying what i want most.. vet science! i'm finally on my way to be a vet! wow!
so... wont be posting here for maybe a week until i can get into my apartment and settle the telephone and internet connection... but once i get everything fixed i'll defintaly update the blog..

I was not thrown into the pool! haha!
heh.. yes as my title suggests... i got away from the SGMC reunion dinner DRY... haha! too bad go try and throw me in next year.. lol
yep had SGMC reunion dinner last saturday.. had great great time! heh when we first got to the condo.. the function room smelled.. er according to pam.. funky.. yes it was nose-pinchingly smelly... haha but after a while we got used to the smell.. and then matt came along spraying his friend's branded cologne like it's WATER.. he spray soooo much until the smell is overwhelming...
must say thanks to liling for bringing all the vcds so that we can sing our hearts out! lol! oh yar but at first we had some technical problem.. the qn, according to pam again.. is how many SGMC guys does it take to fix the mic problem? my ans? none, you need someone's mother.. haha! yeah matt's fren's mom (who helped booked the room) came and help too.. but once the thing was ok... it was songs galore! haha but was quite irritating to hear jay chou crooning/mumbling over and over and over again for the first hour while they were trying to fix the thing... and yeah ok the thing is... we erm arent what u call good singers.. some being worse singers then others... haha! and then.. luckily for our ears reuben came to save the day with his great singing...
ok after a while more pple came and then i started playing bridge... we stopped for a while to eat the nice buffet courtesy of weixuan's and shirley's planning... and when we returned.. we were one player short.. so jason stepped in.. and that's where the erm REAL game began... for your information.. jason is sooo inattentive in bridge!! his favourite qn is.. who put that card?? and he cant tell who his partner is... haha and he MUST flash at least one card each game.. in short yes it was damn funny to play lar.. it's like me, jane,kat, weixuan taking turns to ask.. u know who yr partner is or not?? lol.
celebrated xiaoyuan's bday too wif everyone signing the doormat pressie ... oh yar there were sooooo many cameras that day. it was damn funny when we take grp shots... everyone set timer.. then press tgt.. and run like siao to their position.. haha then like some star liddat wif all the flashes...
ended the day wif er.. tossing the yu sheng.. and i seriously mean toss.. everyone squeezing at the table.. and promptly tossing carrot and raddish on each other's hands.. haha!

hrm... now what have i been doing the past week? how am i spending my last few days in s'pore?
basically.. i've been a big fat slacker. yes. i've been slacking all day long. my luggage isnt packed finished... i've simply stopped doing anything constructive...
ok. so BESIDES slacking... i DO have some sort of life.. last wed went out wif laysh, swi and shoe.. finally the 4 of us can meet tgt after such a looong time... the last time all 4 of us met tgt was... to watch Thirteen going on Thirty i tink... i met up wif laysh in the afternoon first.. go bowling.. walau so paiseh got 2 schs having bowling cca there.. and we totally suck at it.. yeah and i cracked my thumb nail...PAIN sia.. who ask me go bowling nv cut nails la...
aft that met up wif swi and shoe.. went to eat crepes and cream.. at citylink mall.. got a damn freaky waiter there... totally weird lor.. had fun time just tokkin nonsense and taking silly pics...

Butterflies
yeah. as the date draws nearer and nearer.. i'm starting to feel real nervous.. it's not the scared type of nervousness.. but more of the "i wonder what will it be like" nervous anticipation...
went to the pre departure briefing on saturday... yeah quite alot of s'poreans going over to melb... ALOT of them are going to do med.. i guess these are the NUS med turn downs.. quite sad huh they get great grades and yet cant study med in their own country.. have to pay big big bucks to go overseas...
met 2 future coursemates... maybe there's more s'poreans doing vet science but they din turn up.. who knows.. but just glad that at least there's 2.. haha.. ok there's Jun Hui from Hwa Chong.. and Melvin from RJ.. anyone know them? haha.. oh yeah and Jun Hui is from NYGH too.. dunno which class though... saw quite a couple of NY girls there.. oh and melvin has a twin brother who was from SA.. haha sad thing is both of them aren't staying in the same place as me... i'm gonna be at college square and both of them are staying in university college...
got another pre departure briefing this coming sat.. this time is by IDP.. they're a aussie representitive thingie that i chose to help me wif the enrolment and stuff if u din know.. yeah the briefing last sat was more of a " what to do when u get to UOM - how to enrol/orientation stuff".. the one this coming sat is more of a " what u can do/ what to expect when u get to aussie land"...
well finally got down to start on my packing.. i realise that i only have slightly more than 2 weeks left... haha most of my clothes are currently in my suitcase so if u see me wearing the same stuff for the next 2 weeks.. u'll know why.. i have relatively few clothes actually.. i mean what do you expect for a girl who doesnt shop??? a whole chunk of my clothes are actually school-related clothes...
ah well.. time to go back to my packing... 17 more days to go! treasure the time left u have with me! haha!

ALOT of them are going to do med.. i guess these are the NUS med turn downs.. quite sad huh they get great grades and yet cant study med in their own country.. have to pay big big bucks to go overseas...

i'm such a gd little girl
oh yes forgot to say.. haha being the good little girl i am.. when my parents asked whr i went last fri.. i decided to tell them the truth... sort of.. lol
anyways my mum knows roughly whr the place is.. as she knows thr's a pub outside there.. luckily she dunno wat the inside look like.. i mean wif all the cigarette smoke and loud music and dancing and drinking..
hee yes and i spent my time emphasizing on safe pts like the fact the bash was org by sci club.. and tokked abt the music thr... and of course i left out no-no pts like me drinking... :P

Sick sick sick...
i said in my previous post i was sick. now i'm very sick... :( yeah typical flu symptoms... been coughing non-stop... sorethroat.... headache...muscle ache... slight fever... cant even tok properly now cos it hurts... :(
yeah went to crash NTU just now... to see LAYSH! :) haha crashed some chim transport liabilty lec that had alot of law stuff in it.. the lecturer was quite weird and the way he reads from the paper is v funny... he puts it real close to his face then looks upwards to look at the paper w/o looking thru his glasses... and he keeps saying please please please.. oh and laysh says her classmates think he looks like tweety bird's granny... totally agree!
aft that was some psychy lec.. mind over stress.. hrm prob if i was actually listening it would have been interesting.. haha but got to know the lecturer's lifestory and how he was the youngest kid.. the only boy with 7 older sisters.. seriously this is abt wat i can remember from the lec....
NTU is quite small.. the academic buildings occupy a small space.. and surrounding it like 4 times the size the rest of the land is used to house it's many many halls.. oh and i leant this from laysh: the pple who design ntu have no creative skills... the north spine and south spine look EXACTLY the same so it's easy to get lost cos u forget which part of the campus ur on... haha...

Head in clouds...
ok i just came back from science bash.. at rouge.. ok let me say first that I AM NOT A CHIONGSTER... it's just that since alot of pple are going and it's gonna be my last choinging session b4 i fly off... yeah so i went for it...
rouge is a damn small place... yeah and there was a live band playing from 11-12.. and they sucked. BIG TIME. NOt music... just NOISE... wah lao it was horrible lor.. stoopid music.. cause me to leave the place and seek peace and quiet outside... nobody was even dancing lor...
ok so luckily the live band stopped playing at 12 plus.. and finally the R&B music came... at first quite so-so... but the music got better as time went by... yeah so we all danced and stuff... anyways i had 1 and a half cup of gin tonic (house pour - v weak).. 2 tequila shots.. and shared a jug of long island tea wif some pple... ok i have to say that the shots and gin tonic were no feeling... drink already nothing one.. ok maybe just make me dance a little harder.. hahaha.. but the long island tea is strong stuff.. drink a little start to feel seh already..
oh and alot of rag dancers went.. me benny shoe matt weixuan shirley xiaoyuan weijie wenyan victor dexter jason nicole liling tayning zeff frances terence... i hope i din leave anyone out... yeah so alot of pple... had fun time dancing... oh and met kayaking coursemate ben there...
ok so let me say something now that i'm still feeling a little high from the LIT... i tink ben is cute. :) ok so i will want to kick myself after i'm sober but i dun care. too bad i'm going to melbourne. hahhaha..
oh and i thought i saw this SA guy there.. fr my gp class.. swi u rem zicong? but i'm not sure if it's him cos the place is dark and he wasnt that near me... ok been typing alot of typos liao.. but u dun notice cos i'm constantly deleting and retyping.. haha.. going to slp now.. gd nite... oh btw.. i'm SICK.. and i still go.. wah lao wat am i tinking?

BOY AM I FREE OR WAT
ok i must be crazy... i just changed my template not long ago.. and here i am giving my blog a new look. AGAIN. Went to crash 4 bloody lectures just now... biod, science of music, genetics, human anatomy...
biod was fine.. cos it's the intro and they did the usual "show pics to impress/keep students awake" stunt... yeah so it was quite nice to look at all the pics.. i have to say science of music seemed quite interesting... esp with me and shiwei squinting hard trying to see the powerpt slides cos we were condemned to the back back row.. haha but seriously it was interesting... but the lecture was DAMN FULL.. there were alot of step sitters... hrm nus dunno how to give them better location huh...
ok i almost killed myself during genetics and human anatomy... genetics the lecturer was talking abt cell components and stuff... and he was talking to the floor most of the time.. plus he was basically reading from the slides.. and he was spending too much time telling us how respectable and decent E.coli/Streptomycete etc were... plus he seemed to be interested so much in bacteria pili and oh yes he loves bread and cheese. See the amazing amt of stuff i can learn in a lec? Human anatomy started out fine wif an interesting introduction.. then change lecturer and start the lesson proper.. and that is where i wanted to bang my head... what did the lecturer talk abt? cell components. sound familiar? yeah and he was really going on and on abt the diff component... too much in fact.. doesnt he know that it is a Prerequisite to have bio to take that mod? he's spending way to much time on stuff pple already know...
yes i'm going for the bash this fri...

Matric Cardless
Yep.. i'm matric cardless.. and according to benny.. i'm now an illegal immigrant.. haha..
went to hand in my matric card today.. plus the withdrawal form.. but techinically i'm not out of nus yet cos i still have to go thru a stoopid interview and recieve the official letter fr the registra office.. yeah waste my time basically..
crashed one lec today... aim to crash more lecs in the days to come.. want to torture myself... make myself super duper bored attending lecs... hahaha....
exactly one month more b4 i fly off.. ONE MONTH.. wow time really flies.. it's a good time now to claim your farewell dinners from me.. if not i fly off liao no more chance le.. hahaha..
haha pple who want IN-LEC entertainment.. feel free to send your request to me.. include the name of lecture, venue, and time... hahaha.. i will see if i can fit your request into my schedule.. and CRASH YOUR LECTURE...

New Look
Changed the layout of my blog..
well completed my 1 & 2 star kayaking course.. i must say it has been FUN... :) haha however on the first day i din put sunblock.. the result? a red red lobster. haha.. but i learnt my lesson.. for the subsequent lessons a put ALOT of sunblock.. currently .. i am chao da.. but at least i'm not red... :P
kayaking is fun.. esp the capsizing part + rescue and recovery.. yeah and everytime if we use the pool.. at the end of the lesson or even in the middle of lessons.. pple are trying to capsize each other.. yeah so at the end of the lesson everyone is in the pool hanging on to their capsized & flooded kayak with no rescuers in sight... haha.. yeah and we tried out canoe polo.. fun stuff...
there was a mini expedition on the last day.. paddling out.. i almost died.. i dunno y but i was DEAD TIRED.. maybe it has got something to do with my less then substential breakfast.. haha.. then.. we stopped at a sheltered area away from the shipping lanes to practise capsizing/rescue.. now.. here's a tip to allow yrself not to feel tired while paddling : eat milo bars.. haha.. cos after i ate half of benny's milo bar.. the whole trip back i din stop paddling once.. milo bar to the rescue! haha...
well for the nus pple.. sch is starting on mon.. gd luck for this sem ! :)

WARNING: Long Post Ahead
Yes.. this is gonna be a long post..
Well back from KL .. had a great great time there... had a erm.. memorable first night.. no wait.. it was morning.. haha the bus reached at ard close to 4 i think.. 4am.. and by right we were suppose to check in at 2pm.. but by left.. the receptionist said we could check in at 8am if there was vacancy. so we spent the morning playing OLD MAID in the lobby.. until some of us could not take it and concussed on the chair.. FINALLY at 8.. we managed to get 1 room... so we all squeezed into it and rested awhile b4 breakfast...
ok i have to say.. the shopping centres in KL are HUGE.. like a maze.. Times Square has so many stories.. yeah we went to play the theme park there.. it's so cool to have a theme park in a shopping centre lor.. esp one that has rides that are actually fun.. BUT.. had ALOT of bruises afterwards... the safety thingy (ok i have no idea wat they are called) presses against yr shoulder very hard.. esp when u go upside down.. yeah.. sore shoulders.. but the worst bruise i got is this big one on my arm.. from what? the first ride.
yes. the amusement park is the best place for pple to learn abt centrifugal force. the first ride was this spinning thing. i was sitting on the outside with liling and weixuan sitting beside me. result? the thing spun and i got squashed against the side of the bar. and it hurt. and i was like out of breath. now i know how the sediment feels in a test tube undergoing spinning to seperate out the layers of different densities. ok but that wasnt the worst ride. the worst one was some crazy revolving thing. and i sat it 2 times in a row. result? i got real sick and felt like puking. yeah i really felt the vomit rush to my throat. urgh. so i felt sick and couldnt bring myself to ride the rollercoster in case i puked halfway. but after alot of laughter therapy playing bumper cars... i finally felt well enough to sit it. yeah and the rollercoster is like only 10% of that nausating ride.
ok. those pple that know me will know that i'm a non-shopper. As in i dun shop... esp not for myself.. i'm perfectly fine with going out to buy stuff for my frens.. but when it comes to myself i just cant do it. yeah i dun browse thru clothes.. i GLANCE... yep so 2 shopping days went by wif me buying absolutely nothing for myself. in the end.. not wanting to feel like an idiot.. i asked my frens to force me to buy something... so on the last day i was the owner of a nice new pink shirt thanks to eunice...
ok so KL is a GREAT place to shop.. the prices there are really quite low.. plus the food there is cheap.. BUT.. the traffic is harrowing.. the motorcycles dun care for any traffic rules.. and the zebra crossing is non-existant.. and the SMOG.. oh man that was horrible.. esp the walk back to the hotel from chinatown..
other things i've learned: indian poker is a great game to past time. to get cap 5.0... u must bochap the outside world like charles. weixuan, eunice, shirley and liling are afraid of cats.
