Things u never asked to know abt melbourne but i'm going to tell u now cos this is my blog and i can say what ever i want.

• the weather here is super dry. my lips are cracking and my skin is dry and peeling. If u ever wanna come here... pls bring along lip balm and moisturizer.

• australia has the highest incidence of skin cancer. cos of the more-than-usual uv rays that shine down on this part of the earth. even in the cool weather... walking in the sun doesnt feel hot or anything but u realise when u get back u get a sun burn. if u are going out in the sun for a long time.. even if u are not at the beach or sumthing.. pls bring along sun block.

• this place is big on saving the earth. as in cutting down on the use of plastic bags. in the supermarts they encourage pple to buy those cloth bags of theirs to put the groceries instead of plastic bags and the pple really do buy them. u see alot of pple carrying those cloth bags to supermarts. In ikea.. u can either buy their reusable blue bags.. or pay 10c for each plastic bag.. so most pple wif cars dont bag their stuff b4 loading into cars.. n lotsa pple say "no thanks i dun need a bag"...

• now's summer time n their reservoirs are at a low.. so they have stage1/2/3 of water conservation in place...

• "Flake" is shark meat.

• pple like to tie up their dogs outside the supermart whilet they shop.

• u get to see guide dogs for the disabled... plus i saw a guide puppy in training... :)

• they have quarantine dogs at the airport terminals who go round sniffing yr luggage for any illegal items at the baggage collection area.

• the pple like to seat on grass. any spot of nice looking grass and u'll find pple sitting, reading, picnicing, sun tanning, sleeping on it. even that realtively small plot of grass infront of the state library in the middle of the CITY.

• aussie slang for mosquitoes is mozzies.

ok i had lots more to say but i've seem to forgotten them all.. will share them wif u guys next time if i can remember.. haha
