Reality Check
I woke up on the day of my flight wif my heart pounding and my adrenaline pumping. Now i know wat it means to "wake up with a start". my doggies were sleeping on my bed beside me as usual.. everything looked the same.. but i knew that today was not the same. reality check: i'm going to melbourne today. i brought my dogs out for one last walk just hours before.. taking pics in the park... and today.. i'll have to say goodbye...
Farewell
i must really say a big big thanks to those pple who came to see me off... to those who couldnt make it for one reason or another.. dun worry i totally understand... and thanks for even wanting to come down! Well took lots of photos at the airport.. had my JC frens and NUS frens.. so sorry if i din spend enuff time with either grps... oh yes and a thanks for the pressies.. a nice nice nice collage of photos from swi laysh and shoe... and a bag and furry slippers and cards fr the nus pple... plus the towel from swei, cookies fr grace and the cute little earrings and pendent from shoe and benny... not forgetting the other stuff i got from other pple earlier on...
haha thought i saw a few glimmering eyes from shoe and laysh and MY BROTHER.. but glad that it wasnt a sappy gdbye... cos it aint really goodbye.. but after saying that i myself am guitly of a sappy gdbye... cos at home.. just b4 the taxis arrived.. i grabbed my dogs and hugged them.. and when the taxis came.. i couldnt help it.. i just cried.. the tears wouldnt stop flowing.. and i DONT cry easily... from the days leading up to that day.. i din feel anything much.. but at that moment i knew that it was REALLY happening... and i guess all the emotions that had been lacking so far just poured out...

summer? what summer?
yes. it was cold.. on the day i reached the high for the day was 20 low of 14. remember this is the middle of summer.. and the wind is cold. the sun maybe shining.. but when u stand in the shade it's really a few degrees colder.. and the winds are like 15 degrees.... yeah and u dun need aircon cos the nights are cold...
Ah.. yes.. summer...after saying abt the cold temp... a few days later it was HOT.. high of 33.. but the winds were still cold though... but yes hot and summer like.. plus the sun sets at like NINE pm... yeah all the signs of summer... BUT.. for the past few days only that day was a hot one.. the rest are cold... with highs from 21-24.. u really need a jacket wif u no matter what season it is..
Holidaying
since i arrived with a few days to spare.. me and my family went out to explore the area.. the roads in melb are very easy to navigate cos everything is laid out in a grid pattern.. i tink i know where most of the shopping centres and stuff are now.. and i tried out the tram system already.. i havent tried their buses.. but their main tspt system is their tram.. it is super efficient.. it comes like every 1-2 MINS.. wow.. yeah went to philip island to look at th penguins but unfortunately it's not a very gd season cos most of the penguins are moulting and dun go out to sea so there's not many penguins to see...
College Squaremy apartment is really quite nice. i thot i would be small and cramp.. but really.. it's quite spacious.. kinda like some condos in s'pore... plus i happened to get the apartment wif the nice nice layout... but there was some screw up wif my internet there cos some of the wiring was wrong or sumthing.. but luckily it got sorted out today.. my apartment is situated on lygon st.. a mini little italy.. lots of italian shops..
haha oh yes swi.. i do have the photo thingie up right infront of my desk.. haha.. oh and u know the feeling u get when u stay at hotels? like it gets real cold at night? and when u go and bathe the moment u step out of shower u freeze? and when u wake all u wanna do is to snuggle cos the weather is so comfy? well i'll be experiencing that for the next 5 years.. the slippers really came in handy guys! really keeps my feet warm esp in the bathroom! oh the whole place is carpeted execpt the kitchen and toilet... it's a norm here cos of the weather..
University of Melbourne
It's big. Real big. it takes forever to walk from one place to another. it's 15-20 mins walk from my apartment.. what the heck i need the exercise...
Food n stuffis totally expensive. they do have food courts but the prices there are like ave $A8-10... and if it's outside restaurants it's like ave $A12-20 depending on the location and food u order.. some stuff is actually quite reasonable... like printers.. and some groceries.. oh if u buy from the market some of the things like veggie and fruits are cheaper here.. and meat too.. if from supermart prices are more ex.. but if u buy their homebrand it's really quite cheap.. oh their milk is really cheap.. haha.. they've got certain stores like BIG W which sells cheap household and electrical stuff too.. oh went to their ikea.. it's just abt identical to s'pore.. haha... plus the stuff they sell there are cheap too...
ok i think i've written enuff for today.. will continue to update stuff soon.. plus add photos.. been rather busy buying stuff for the apartment... i've never done so much shopping in s'pore before.. haha!
